Yesterday was a cloudy, windy and a bit of a chilly day; the perfect day to spend at the beach after that long heatwave we had! We took the boat to Schiermonnikoog, the last and smallest of the Dutch Wadden islands. It took around 45 minutes from the harbour in Lauwersoog to the island of Schiermonnikoog and we had an amazing day! It has Europe’s widest beach, at one point even up to a kilometer! The island is also a national park and car-free! A beautiful place to clear your head, wander around and feel free.

This was Joya’s first time to a Wadden island. I myself have been to Terschelling before and my son Jayden recently went to Ameland. There are five big islands in the Wadden Sea, now we kinda need to visit them all this summer! Have you ever been to one of them? Which one was your favourite?
